UPVC Door Lock Repair Services Escrick
We can repair most door locks, we can adjust, disassemble and rebuild with new parts to get your door lock working as it should.
With wooden doors there are two main types of lock fitted to these, mortice locks and night latches. With mortice locks you get problems from badly cut keys, worn curtains, bent levers, broken springs and snapped keys to name a few. The wooden door can also 'drop' out of alignment making locking your door either difficult or impossible.
Night Latches
Problems with night latches include loose fittings, jammed snibs, badly aligned keeps and poorly cut keys.
Sometimes these night latches are fitted to an ever-increasing smart lock craze.
Smart Locks
Smart locks pose their own issues from time to time with anything from spent batteries and lost key codes.
Composite and UPVC Doors
Can have issues with door mechanisms that are jammed shut, failed gearboxes drooping handles, snapped keys, keys stuck in lock and 'door dropping' preventing the door from being locked.
Aluminium Doors
Aluminium doors and bifold doors have similar problems to the composite and UPVC doors, however, they are more complex to adjust, so it's always better to call us in as soon as you detect problems.
Stiff Sticking Door Handle Repairs Escrick
In most cases, if you are having to put effort into lifting door handles to lock the door or they feel stiff to operate call us in early as it will cost you a great deal less than us coming out after the door mechanism has failed.
Sometimes it will be necessary for your lock to be updated in order for you to get the latest security standards and give you the peace of mind that no one else has a key for your home.
When you move into a new home it is always advisable to change your door locks as most of us give out keys to our homes to friends and family and never get them back or they are lost.
