A transponder key or emergency key is a key blade with a transponder in the head of the key that is coded specifically to your car or van. It is not a remote key, it does not have buttons to lock and unlock your car or van. It will manually lock and unlock your vehicle and allow you to start and drive your car or van.
Theses transponder keys are used when you have lost your standard remote keys or have damaged them and allow you to stay mobile until you can have new remote keys programmed to your car or van.
